The Georgia First Amendment Foundation relies for its support upon an annual mid-summer fund drive, the January Weltner Freedom of Information Banquet; and modest grants.

We need your help. Please send your gift today to aid us in our mission. It is to teach Georgians about the need for more open government.

Leave a bequest for GFAF in your will. If recent events prove anything it is that threats to open government and freedom of information are constant.

Please consider leaving a gift of cash or stocks for the Georgia First Amendment Foundation in your will. It will ensure that your support for this work, your commitment to freedom of speech and the press, will be felt in the world long after your death.

The Georgia First Amendment Foundation is a federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and its employer number is 58-2096815.

IN MEMORIUM

Bunny Beutelle Boatwright
1917-2010

Mother of Don Daniel, founder of
The Monroe County Reporter and long time
supporter of the Georgia First Amendment Foundation

Robert Paul Jordan
1921-2006

In memory of Robert P. Jordan, 84, of Hilton Head Island, S.C., who died March 15, 2006.  Jordan was a stellar journalist who worked as an editor and writer for both National Geographic and The Washington Post.

His
reporting took him around the world. He gravitated toward stories that were tough to tell, traveling to Siberia in what was then the Soviet Union at a time no journalists were allowed in the country and to Somalia to tell of its troubles years before they became front-page news. Moreover, Jordan was a proponent of integrity in journalism and believed that a free press was key to the longevity of the United States.
